Poster Presentations

A presentation mode change from in-person to online is no longer possible!

Abstract correction

All abstracts of accepted contributions will be compiled in the book of abstracts, which will be available on-line. All authors of accepted contributions will have the opportunity to revise their abstract

Therefore, you are kindly requested to check your abstract for any mistakes and to report all necessary corrections to the organising committee via E-Mail. Please make the corrections visible as it is not possible to replace the whole abstract. Be aware that after August 1st, we will not process any corrections in your abstract.

Poster format

Please prepare your poster in DIN A0 (841mm x 1189mm) or DIN A0 Oversize (882mm x 1247mm), upright format (Portrait!!!) as the poster boards will not accommodate "landscape" formats. Please note that the organisers are not able to provide a printout of posters.
However, you should upload your poster till September 20.

If you wish to incorporate the Tropentag logo, you can download it here: as .eps (1.6 MB) or as .jpg (650 kB).

In case you wish to additionally distribute DIN A4 or DIN A3 copies of your poster, please bring these along.

Poster design - some guidelines

To get an idea of designing a "good" poster - please have a look at the following guidelines.

Poster presentation during "Tropentag 2023"

The guided poster sessions will be held on day two and three of the conference:
on Thursday September 21, from 08:30 - 10:15, and from 17:15 - 19:30, as well on Friday September 22, from 08:30 - 09:30.

All presenters are supposed to be in front of their poster during their poster session and to shortly introduce their poster (i.e. outline the main message in not more than 3 minutes).

The organisers of Tropentag 2023 will organise two to three online-only poster sessions during each poster timeslot. For more details see here.

Please upload your poster till September 20, using our upload service: https://www.tropentag.de/submission/contributions.php

Poster award

The organisers of Tropentag 2023 will grant the best five Tropentag posters with a price of 300 € each.

All posters presented at the conference (on-line as well as inperson) are eligible to compete.

Submission of full paper

Authors of accepted poster contributions are free to submit a 4 page version of their presentation until October 31, 2023. These versions will be published online at the Tropentag website (https://www.tropentag.de). In order to search the fulltext of all published contributions, a search engine will be installed locally. Additionally the site will be promoted and submitted to major search engines.

In order to facilitate the process of publishing your contributions online, only Acrobat pdf files (portable document files, extension: .pdf) are accepted.

The contribution should be ca. 4 pages. For all contributions, paper size is DIN A4 (21x29.7 cm), top margin is 2.5cm, bottom, left and right margins are 2.2 cm. All images, figures and tables must be inserted directly into the text. You may use the file Template_TT2023.rtf as template for your contribution (Rich Text Format, can be imported from any major word processing software). Recommended layout and structure may be also seen from this four page version submitted for Tropentag 2015 in Berlin.
Please use the following form to upload your four-page-version https://www.tropentag.de/submission/contributions.php
