Berlin City Tax
A special tax called Berlin City Tax is due for all bookings of private overnight stays. It costs up to five percent of the room rate (net price) and is collected by
the accommodation providers and added to the hotel bill.
Business travellers are exempt from the Berlin City Tax and do not have to pay. They have to prove the business purpose of their trip, e.g. by a bill that is paid by or issued to the employer,
a letter from the company, or the registration documents for the Tropentag conference.
