Abstract
Sustainable Forest Management Model (Brawijaya SPSF) in Indonesia (Case Study on Mangrove Forest)was as a form of integration between forest resources, stakeholders involved, and regulations in forest management performance. BrawijayaSPSF is a term for the concept of forestry science found on the Brawijaya Campus, which manages a 544.74 ha forest called UB Forest in Karangploso, Malang Regency and has a Forestry Study Program along with lecturer and student resources. The BrawijayaSPSF model completes a holistic discussion of the performance of forest area managers oriented towards the rules of the game, social, economic, and forest characteristics. The weaknesses of this model require detailed observation and holistic analysis of forest characteristics, actors, and rules of the game as well as the interaction between these three elements in providing management performance.
The advantage of the Brawijaya SPSF concept and theory is that it thoroughly understands the characteristics of forests that provide different performance from the others, compared to previous concepts and theories that view forests as still the same from one forest to another in the ecosystem landscape. The rules of the game and their implementation provide colour in measuring performance between actors and forest resources in their various interactions. The weaknesses of the theory and concept presented require detailed observation and holistic analysis related to the integration of three institutional elements of forest management, namely: forest characteristics, actors, and rules of the game as well as the interaction of these three elements in providing management performance.
