Effect of N Fertiliser Top-dressing on Quality, Quantity and N Accumulation of Bean (Phaseolous vulgaris)

Abstract


Sustainable Agriculture is a biologic process and tries to imitate from key features of natural ecosystem but the maximum yield is a feature of main aim. Bean is one of the most protein-vegetable plant that is ability to provide population food requirements of the world that day to day is increase in high level, Increased application of nitrogen (N) fertiliser top-dressing during growth is an effective option for enhancing N supply and N accumulation to bean plants.
The present research to aim achieved amount of N accumulation in seed and pods with increase N fertilisers was performed in Spring of the year 2010 in Research Farm of Islamic Azad University, Varamin Branch to study effect of different levels of nitrogenous and Zn+K fertilisers on growth and yield of Phaseolous vulgaris . Applied experimental plan in the present research is in split plot design completely randomised block design with four replications in which the 1st factor have nitrogenous fertiliser in three levels of N fertiliser (250 kg urea/ha, 300 kg urea/ha and 350 kg urea/ha) in main plots and subplots were included potassium fertiliser and Zn-foliar application (120 kg K/ha, 6/1000 Zn-foliar application and 120 kg K/ha whit 6/1000 Zn-foliar application together) that sprayed by the results of soil analysis. Our data showed that N, fertiliser application significantly nitrate in pod, carbohydrate percentage, carbohydrate yield, protein percentage, protein yield, chlorophyll of leaf, radiation use efficiency, extinction coefficient, number of pod in m2, number of seed in pod, 100 seed weight, fresh pod yield, seed yield, biological yield, HI and plant height. Maximum N accumulation has been found to occur at or near flowering in bean and not at harvest. In order to estimate plant N loss without the use of labeled N forms, the stage of growth where maximum N accumulation is known to occur needs to be identified. In chemical N fertiliser trials, it existed between total N in soil and NO3- in seeds and pods. The results can be used in agronomy and increase the quantitative and qualitative features for achieve to the sustainable agriculture.
