Many domesticated fruits and nuts originated from the different parts of Western Asia. Sour and sweet cherries, plum, grape, apple, pear, mulberry, walnut, and filbert have parental or related species indigenous to Turkey.
 Myrobalan plum (\textit{Prunus ceracifera} Ehrh.) is widely cultivated in Turkey. Many local varieties having good characteristics are still in use. Sixteen local varieties were collected from Southeast Anatolia, damn area. 
The aim of this study was to determine the adaptabilities of native myrobalan plum materials collected from Southeast Anatolia region of Turkey to Aegean Region conditions.



Different phenological and pomological characteristics were obtained during  the study. Bud swelling, bud breaking, first blossoming, full bloom, late blossoming and harvesting time were recorded. Determination of promising types for adaptation trials were performed employing the "Weighed"=ranked" method. Relative points were given to the characteristics as follows: yield (20 pts.), average fruit weight (20 pts.), attractiveness (15 pts.), fruit taste (15 pts.), fruit flesh firmness (15 pts.), juiciness (10 pts.). and flesh texture (5 pts.). Some other characteristics such as fruit shape, skin colour, aroma were also examined.



Full bloom dates of types were between 8--15 March and 20--28 March. The earliest type was 1610, while the latest ones were 2467 and 2609. Fruit maturity began in the mid of May and at the beginning of June.
 The ranking of types according to the relative points for each characteristics used for selection. It can be seen that types numbered  2224, 2218, 1610, 2221, 2232, 2222 had the highest relative points for yield, average fruit weight, attractiveness, fruit taste, fruit flesh firmness, juiciness and flesh texture.



It is concluded that there were certain amount of variability among myrobalan plum local varieties collected. These results indicate that local varieties can be a good source of different characteristics for the breeders.
