The main aim of agriculture is to increase production, productivity and incomes of producers. This will only be achieved if farmers attain the maximum levels of technical, allocative and economic efficiency. This study examined the technical, allocative and economic efficiency of soyabean farmers in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria and the influence of the farmers' socio"=economic factors on economic efficiency. Purposive sampling technique was used as the method for selecting respondents and data was obtained with the aid of well"=structured questionnaires. one hundred respondents were selected from four villages. Descriptive statistics, the Cobb-Douglass production function and Tobit regression model were fitted to the data for analysis. Farm size, seed and fertiliser are factors that contribute to technical efficency while farm size and fertiliser are factors that contribute to allocative efficiency. The mean technical efficiency was eighty"=one percent and mean allocative efficiency was seventy"=nine percent; these values show that there is room for improving the technical and allocative efficiencies. The mean estimate of economic efficiency was sixty"=five percent, indicating that there is great scope for increasing soyabean output by thirty"=five percent and it may be achieved by adopting the techniques and methods used by the most efficient farmer. Resource allocation among farmers was not optimal because the efficiency estimates deviated from the frontier level. Years of farming experience, level of education and the use of improved seeds are socio"=economic factors that significantly affect economic efficiency. All the socio"=economic variables except age and sex had positive relationships with economic efficiency.}
