\textbf{Abstract}
\begin{abstract}
\normalsize{
Salinity is a major agricultural constraint, and is a significant problem in tropical ecosystems  because it affects some of the otherwise most productive agriculture areas. The response of Clitoria ternatea to inoculation with native isolates of \textit{Rhizobium} and commercial \textit{Rhizobium} strains was studied under salt stress. The study was carried out under semi controlled conditions in green$\lnot$house as well as under field conditions with salt soils (6300 ppm Nacl). The effect of three \textit{Rhizobium} strains: Jd19 (native isolate), 1031 and 1032 (commercial strains) were compared to controls (without mineral fertilisation and without inoculation) and mineral N fertilisation with respect to yields and nitrogen fixation parameters. Under semi controlled conditions, the best results for yields and nitrogen fixation parameters were found for the native strain of \textit{Rhizobium} (JD 19). In this treatment the highest root and shoot weights and N uptakes were found. Furthermore, the JD 19 treatment showed the highest K:Na ratio, the highest ureide contents, highest values of chlorophyll a and b in the shoot, and the best index of inoculation effectiveness. In the field experi$\lnot$ment the Jd 19 treatment had positive effects fielding compari$\lnot$son to other treatment groups.  The obtained results indicate the effectiveness of the inoculation of Clitorea ternatea specie  with effective rizobios to obtained  almost similar yields of dry matter to compare to the mineral fertilisation is used, on the other hand it is visible the variability in the inoculation response.  The results indicated that the Clitoria ternatea-Jd19 combination is a more efficient under salt stress conditions and is possible to introduce in wide scale in salt affected soils in Cuba.}
