The concept of the world as a global village is widely accepted, several issues, systems, and problems must now be treated as common. Climate change and food security now top the list of issues of global concern. There has been rapid cross fertilisation of taste in human food and delicacies so much that food security is now a global issue. Several reports have pointed to Africa as the most affected in terms of hunger and malnutrition. While some developed nations watched with amusement the problems of Africa, others have been very concerned with annual interventions amounting to millions of dollars. In this paper, the global perspective to food security in Africa is presented in order to provide solutions that will engender peace and harmony in the world in the decades ahead. Today, citizens of each nation are very mobile from one end of the globe to the other; food insecurity can lead to nucleation of untold diseases capable of quick and wide spread. It is high time food insecurity was eradicated in Africa for the benefit of mankind. The World Bank and other agencies of the international community would need to brace up to the challenges of food security in Africa. It is suggested that the International community should establish food production, processing and storage centres for selected crops in areas where such candidate crops have comparative advantage. Research for development in the area of processing and storage is also necessary in order to process and store food to cope with uncertainties in climate across the globe. The concept of Organic Farming need be adopted worldwide to preserve agricultural lands which are being depleted at an unimaginable rate.
