\textbf{Abstract}
\begin{abstract}

This study was conducted to determine the hemoglobin and serum biochemical parameters of Kurdi lambs in 191 lambs at weaning weight (three months) for two years (2007 and 2008) and they bred at the similar management and condition at the sheep breeding farm, Animal production Dept., College of Agriculture, University of Duhok. Also the effects of some factors on blood parameters were obtained. In addition, the simple correlation between blood parameters and weaning weight of lambs were investigated.

The overall means for hemoglobin (Hb) concentration, Total protein (TP), Albumin (Alb), Globulin (Glob), Cholesterol (Chol), Triglycerides (TGs), Glucose (Glu), Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase (GOT) and Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase (GPT) were 11.63$\pm$\unitfrac[0.12]{g}{dl}, 5.79$\pm$\unitfrac[0.04]{g}{dl}, 2.95$\pm$\unitfrac[0.02]{g}{dl}, 2.84$\pm$\unitfrac[0.04]{g}{dl}, 73.65$\pm$\unitfrac[2.11]{mg}{dl}, 32.69$\pm$\unitfrac[1.11]{mg}{dl}, 71.81$\pm$\unitfrac[0.75]{mg}{dl}, 88.27$\pm$\unitfrac[1.62]{IU}{L} and 19.30$\pm$\unitfrac[0.59]{IU}{L} respectively. Year of lambing affects all blood parameters significantly except (Alb), (Glob) and (GOT). While season of lambing found to have a significant ($p < 0.01$) effect only on (Alb), (Chol) and (Glu). Whereas sex of lamb had a significant ($p < 0.05$) effect only on (Glu), but type of birth had a significant ($p < 0.05$) effect only on (Chol) and (TGs). The regression coefficient of all studied traits on weaning weight of lambs were no significant except the (Hb) ($p < 0.01$). The correlation between lambs weaning weight with all blood parameters were no significant with the exception of (Hb) (0.28) ($p < 0.01$), (TGs) (-0.16) ($p < 0.05$) and (GPT) (-0.14) ($p < 0.05$). While most of the correlation among different blood traits were significant. This study has indicated hemoglobin and serum biochemical values and could serve as baseline information for comparison in different conditions.
