\textbf{Abstract}
\begin{abstract}
\normalsize{
Agricultural education in Angola is nowadays in the phase of its resurrection after a long"=lasting war which paralysed any form of education for decades. Even though Angola experiences amazing economical growth, war consequences are still obvious, especially in terms of literacy and level of education among rural population.

Agriculture is an important sector sustaining living of more than \mbox{80\,\%} of Angolan population. The traditional way of knowledge transfer has been interrupted. Hence, there is a high need for both basic as well as more sophisticated approach to agricultural techniques.

Agricultural education is a priority of Angolan government. The tradition of agricultural education dates back to 1920 when the first agricultural school in Luanda was established by Portugueses. Nowadays, eight secondary agricultural schools can be found in the whole country.

The study aimed at finding of common comparative parameters for all existing schools, collecting of relevant data, comparing and evaluating them. On the basis of the results, recommendations were formulated. As the principle survey methods were used both structured questionnaires in Portuguese and focus group discussion in Portuguese or Umbundu, if needed. Three target groups were surveyed such as follows: \textbf{(1)}~head of school, \textbf{(2)}~teaching staff, and \textbf{(3)}~pupils.

Three different categories of appropriate comparative parameters were determined in accordance with the surveyed target groups. The first category covers following parameters: identification of external support of a school, future plan improving quality of education, count and composition of teaching staff, studying programms, technical facilities of a school, count and composition of pupils, practical education, extracurricular activity of pupils, and future employment of pupils. The second category involves teaching experience of teaching staff, lesson preparation, further on"=going education of teachers, and needs improving quality of education as perceived by teachers. The third category comprises of the following: reasons of choosing agricultural study, suggestions of the improvement of teachers' performance, practical education, excursion, improvements at a school, and support in employment searching.

The study was realised within the development project No. 279028/2009-\&\#268;RA ``Support of Agricultural Secondary School in Bie Province, Angola'' of the Czech Republic Development Cooperation in Angola.
