\textbf{Abstract}
\begin{abstract}
\normalsize{
Secondary education and training is one of the key factors for increased economic growth and social progress. Unfortunately, fairly big involvement of women in agricultural production does not correspond to their participation in agricultural education, particularly in Sub-Saharan African countries, where more than \mbox{80\,\%} of population is directly dependent on agricultural activities.

The study aims at designing of particular solutions for increased number of girls participating in agricultural secondary schools and keep them studying. As a case study the Bie province in central Angola was selected due to its priority within the Czech Development Cooperation Angola. The data were collected with the help of semi"=structured questionnaires distributed among fifty girls and fifty boys at two agricultural secondary schools in Bie Province in autumn 2009. The results point out on an obvious gender disparity. Girls share only in \mbox{20\,\%} from total number of students. The survey discovers several reasons for the current situation in secondary agricultural schools. The factors are classified in accordance with two different points of view --- demand and supply in terms of participation of girls in secondary agricultural education. The demand factors are as follows: lack of time for studying, economical situation of girls, social position of women in traditional African society, and technical focus of agricultural studying programme. The supply factors mainly lie in lack of agricultural schools, lack of women's model in society, lower level of motivation, lower level of initial knowledge of girls, and lower interest in studying agriculture. In addition, the survey also focuses on clarification of girls' and boys' attitudes to the gender disparity in order to integrate the outcomes into the suggested solution to promote increased girls' participation in agricultural education. On the basis of the collected information, several possible solutions are suggested.
