This study examined climate change adaptation strategies employed by farming households in times of adverse climate changes and the effect on their food insecurity status. Information sought included data on climate change adaptation strategies, socio"=economic/demographic and food consumption data among farming community in rain forest zone of Nigeria. Descriptive statistics, a Cost of Calorie Function (COC) and a Tobit regression model were used to analyse the data. Adaptation strategies that are employed by majority of the respondents include; the use of fertiliser (\mbox{87.5\,\%}), herbicides (\mbox{85.0\,\%}), pesticides (\mbox{77.5\,\%}), crop diversification (\mbox{75.0\,\%}), delay of planting time (\mbox{70.0\,\%}) and early harvest (\mbox{55.0\,\%}). Others are; delay of harvesting time (37.5), use of Irrigation (30.0) while the least used is monocroping (crop specialisation). In estimating the determinants of food insecurity among the households, regression model made of 13 regressors was specified. Eight of the regressors were found to have significant influence on food insecurity. The result shows that sigma is 1.6881 with a $p < 0.01$ hence sigma is statistically significant. The p"=value signifies that the model displays a good fit. The variables that have significant coefficients include Use of Irrigation, Delay harvesting time, Harvest early, Use of Pesticides, Use of Herbicides and Level of Education. It should be noted that a positive sign on a parameter indicates that higher values of the variable tend to increase the likelihood of food insecurity. Similarly, a negative value of coefficient implies that higher value of the variables would decrease the probability of food insecurity. In conclusion result has shown that farmers employed adaptation measures in times of adverse climate changes. Adaptation measures have significant influence on food insecurity.}
